Meat Week 2011: Day 3

Last night started out with disappointment. We were at One Star Ranch in Buckhead which is the home of the famous beef rib. In case you didn't know, cows are very large. Much larger than pigs. So the rib of a cow is also very large. I'm not joking when I say that it is approximately the size of a full-grown man's forearm. And by approximately I mean exactly. The beef rib is enormous, and delicious. And last night, they were out of them. Thanks to Scoutmob they were all sold out of beef ribs. What should have been my favorite night of meat week had just turned into my least favorite. But since I was already there I decided to try some of the other things that they had to offer and I have to admit that the brisket wasn't bad. It was certainly no beef rib but I survived. One other issue that I (and others) have with One Star Ranch is the sides that they offer. First off, they don't have Mac n cheese. I'm not sure how you can have a successful BBQ joint with out mac n cheese but they're doing it. Secondly, we actually asked our server what she though about the side and she was actually honest about them. She told us that the green beans are from a can and that the fries were just ok. I got the fries anyway and the coleslaw turned out to be pretty good. Not a terrible night but it ended up alright.

WHAT I ATE:
Beef brisket, Coleslaw, French fries, Sweet tea
